TEACHING DIRECTOR
Dr. Huisheng Xie
Dr. Xie has 38 years of clinical, teaching, and research experience in veterinary acupuncture and TCVM. He has trained over 10,000 veterinarians to practice TCVM worldwide. Dr. Xie’s education includes advanced training in veterinary medicine, veterinary acupuncture, and human acupuncture. Dr. Xie has authored 20 books and over 100 peer-reviewed papers. His textbooks, including Xie’s Veterinary Herbology, Xie’s Veterinary Acupuncture, and Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine-Fundamental Principles, have been used for TCVM training programs around the world.
Dr. Xie continues to teach and develop educational courses and programs at Chi University, serves as a full clinical professor at the University of Florida’s College of Veterinary Medicine, and is an honorary professor at China Agricultural University, South China Agricultural University, and China Southwest University.

Dr. Terri Rosado
Dr. Terri Rosado graduated from UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 2005 and completed a rotating small animal internship at UF College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. She earned her certification in acupuncture from Chi Institute in 2008 and began practicing integrative medicine immediately. Dr. Rosado has been a lab instructor at Chi since 2010 and a faculty member since 2019. She received her certification in veterinary rehabilitation therapy (CCRT) from the Canine Rehabilitation Institute in 2013. Dr. Rosado earned her Master’s in Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM) in 2024, encompassing Acupuncture, Food Therapy, Chinese Herbal Medicine, and Tui-na.
Dr. Rosado lectures internationally about integrative medicine as well as TCVM; she is an assistant professor at Chi University. Her dog Leisl is the self-proclaimed best-ever lab and demo dog, assisting in teaching thousands of students across the world.

Dr. Ronald Koh
Dr. Ronald Koh, originally from Malaysia, earned his veterinary degree in Taiwan and has been practicing in the United States since 2009. He is a board-certified specialist in Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation with advanced expertise in pain management, acupuncture, manual therapy, TCVM, and integrative medicine.
Dr. Koh is the founder of the canine rehabilitation veterinary certification (CCRV) program at Chi University and serves as a professor there. He previously held faculty positions as clinical assistant professor at LSU School of Veterinary Medicine and later as clinical associate professor of Integrative Medicine at UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine.
He holds multiple certifications in acupuncture (CVA), rehabilitation (CCRP, CCRV), pain management (CVPP), medical manipulation (CVMMP), herbal therapy (CVCH), food therapy (CVFT), Tui-na (CVTP), and hospice and palliative care (CHPV), and integrative veterinary cancer care (IVCCP). His professional passions include managing chronic diseases, chronic pain, mobility dysfunction, cancer, and advancing the use of musculoskeletal ultrasound, with the ultimate goal of restoring mobility and enhancing quality of life for animals through a multimodal, holistic approach.
A sought-after national and international speaker, Dr. Koh regularly presents at conferences and teaches workshops not only across North America but also throughout Asia and European countries. He has authored numerous book chapters and peer-reviewed publications on topics including acupuncture, TCVM, rehabilitation, pain management, laser therapy, and integrative medicine.
Outside of his professional life, he enjoys hiking, traveling, and exploring diverse cultures. Fun fact: Dr. Koh speaks five languages—English, Mandarin, Hakka, Cantonese, and Malay.

VETERINARIAN
Dr. Lidia Komina
Dr. Lidia Komina is originally from Illinois where she graduated from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. Dr. Komina has worked in general practice for 10 years and then 10 more years at an integrative practice in the Chicagoland area. During that time, Dr. Komina was also an adjunct professor teaching students in a veterinary assistant program. After two of her own miniature dachshunds had back surgery, she wanted to explore more natural healing therapies. From 2019 to 2021, at the Chi University (formally Chi Institute), Dr. Komina completed her acupuncture, veterinary food therapy, and tui-na programs. In 2021, Dr. Komina attended the Health Pioneers Institute of Veterinary Chiropractic and went on to successfully become a certified animal chiropractor from the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association. Her final certification came in 2023 where she completed her canine rehabilitation program from the Canine Rehabilitation Institute.
Dr. Komina and her family moved to Florida in 2023 in the hopes of a better life balance and better weather! Dr. Komina married her high school sweetheart Michael; together they have two children, Kullen and Brynn. Her miniature dachshund Minnuette (Minnie) and cats Tyrion and Everette complete her family. Dr. Komina is a huge Star Trek fan and loves anything related to space and science. She also is an avid do-it-your selfer and loves to take on home improvement projects.

VETERINARIAN
Dr. Elizabeth Yorke
Originally from New York, Dr. Elizabeth Yorke graduated from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2007. She completed an internship at Alamo Pintado Equine Medical Center in California and a residency in large animal surgery at Auburn University. Dr. Yorke is board certified by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons. She spent five years as an associate professor of large animal surgery at Tuskegee University College of Veterinary Medicine in Alabama. During that time, she pursued her certification in equine medical manipulation through Chi University. Finding medical manipulation to be a highly effective complement to her lameness practice, she then went on to take Chi University’s equine acupuncture course. A lifelong horse person, Dr. Yorke was delighted to move to Florida horse country with her family in 2020. She divides her professional time between Springhill Equine Veterinary Clinic in Newberry, FL and Chi University. When not working, she can be found showing her horses in hunter-jumper competitions and obstacle challenges, tending her rose garden, or on the water.

Veterinary Technician
Sarah started her veterinary technician career in 2016 and joined Chi Animal Hospital in July of 2022. She recently received her Certified Canine Rehabilitation Veterinary Assistant certification from Chi University.
She has several dogs at home who love hiking and mountain biking with her. Sarah has always loved to travel and backpack around the national parks; she goes back country camping as often as she can! Sarah loves all animals big and small, but working-breed dogs and exotics hold a special place in her heart.

Lead Veterinary Technician
Jamie is originally from Long Island, NY where she held a wildlife rehabilitation license and worked as a veterinary technician at a specialty hospital in both the ICU and ophthalmology departments. Prior to that, she worked in Shelter Medicine in California, where she primarily took care of farm animals, exotics, and cats. She moved to St. Petersburg, Florida, in 2011 to work in general practice veterinary medicine and particularly enjoys educating clients in preventative care medicine and optimizing care of her feline patients. In Florida she has volunteered her time with the Birds of Prey at Boyd Hill, with several local rescues bottle-feeding orphaned neonatal kittens, and helping low-income families with pet vaccinations. Jamie also works in conservation, focusing on the aquaculture of corals and native Florida wildlife. She moved to Ocala in August2024 where she resides with her partner and menagerie of animals. She started at Chi Animal Hospital in September 2024 where she hopes to expand her knowledge of Eastern medicine. Jamie holds a BA in Culture and Society and looks forward to continuing her education.

Marissa started her veterinary career in 2020. She is constantly learning and taking continuing education classes to further her knowledge of the veterinary field. Marissa loves traveling and reading. In her free time she enjoys going to the beach and competing in various dog sports with her German shepherds.

After receiving her Bachelor of Environmental Science from the University of South Florida, Ashley started her technician career in 2015 and joined Chi Animal Hospital in October of 2023. She recently received her Certified Canine Rehabilitation Veterinary Assistant certification from Chi University as well as her Food Therapy for Veterinary Technicians Certificate.When she isn’t at Chi she can be found on a tennis court, relaxing on a beach or enjoying the outdoors and all the wonder this world has to offer.

Brooke started her veterinary career in 2018 while finishing up her bachelor’s degree at Florida State University. She joined Chi Animal Hospital in May of 2026. Brooke is currently pursuing her CVT, or certified technician degree and license. She has 3 dogs of her own at home. In her free time, Brooke enjoys traveling with her husband, going to concerts, and playing guitar.

Client Care SpecialistLori moved from Colorado to Palm Coast, Florida in 2000 with her husband, Warren, and their beloved yellow Lab, named Frisco.
Lori has over 9 years experience in the traditional veterinary field. She is very excited to learn more about integrative veterinary medicine at Chi Animal Hospital.
Lori has always been an animal lover and also loves working with people. Growing up, as a small girl there were always at least two dogs as part of her family. Lori knew that one day she would follow her passion working with animals. She especially loves helping people with their pets. Lori has a strong interest in animal behavior and nutrition.
Lori has a special place in her heart for rescued animals. She is a volunteer for Echo Dogs White Shepherd Rescue. Lori and her husband love spending time with their beautiful rescued White Shepherd, Willow.

Jessica holds a Bachelors of Sciences in animal sciences with a minor in agribusiness management and sales from the University of Florida. She moved here from Ormond Beach to continue her education. Jessica has a passion for animals large and small. When not helping precious pets at Chi Animal Hospital you can find her on the water or horseback riding in nearby forests. Jessica is excited to expound her knowledge within the veterinary medicine industry.

Sharalyn’s passion for animals began early—she grew up rescuing everything from dogs and cats to birds and chinchillas with her family. Her journey into veterinary medicine officially began in 2017 when she started as a kennel technician. Since then, she’s worked her way up, driven by curiosity and a love for learning all that vet med has to offer.
Sharalyn now lives in Gainesville with her husband Bradley, their rambunctious pug, and three beloved rescue cats.

Sandy is our Office Manager’s Assistant. Hailing from the Midwest, she moved to Florida after a 21-year law enforcement career. She’s been married 14 years to Jeff; they enjoy riding their Harley’s together. Sandy competes in agility with two of her dogs, Tres and Tin. She loves gardening and caring for the variety of tropical plants available in Florida—she’s thrilled about taking care of the Zen garden at CAH! Sandy recently began learning how to play pickleball!
Sandy joins our team with 3 years of receptionist experience with a Western veterinarian, and is excited to learn all she can about TCVM! She claims to be a Wood Constitution, but there is much debate about that!

Emily has lived in Florida her entire life and has worked in the animal field since she was 16! She has been an animal lover since she was little and has dedicated many hours to increasing her education and knowledge and never stops learning! She also loves working with people and is always trying to find new ways to help them! When not at Chi, you can find her out walking trails with her partner and their two dogs, Laika and Walter, curled up on the couch watching dating shows with her cats, Winston and Cosmo, spending time with her goats and chickens, or out on the sidelines of the polo field cheering the players on!
